Take That British officers, like Brock, were not the only soldiers to duel. On May 17, 1813 Surgeon James Bronaugh of the 12th Infantry Regiment shot Major John Stanard of the 20th Infantry Regiment in the thigh. One wonders, if as the local medical officer, Bronaugh had to remove the same bullet.
