What was the War of 1812 Called in 1812?

In general the War of 1812 was most commonly called "Mr. Madison's War" or in Republican circles "The Late War" . . . as a way to separate it from the Revolution.

The term War of 1812 didn't enter common usage until the 1830's and then didn't be come the defacto name of the war until the Mexican-America War in the 1840's when a name for it was required . . . since the phrase "The Late War" now meant something entire different.
